LONDON, 11th October. Addressing the Imperial Conference, Mr. Baldwin read the reply of the Japanese Government to the Conference's message of sympathy regarding the earthquake. The reply said .that the cordial sentiments of the representative statesmen of the British Empire, the old and never-failing ally of Japan, had deply moved the Japanese nation, and had given it energy and reassurance in taking up the task pf reconstruction.
