Tha recent comments on th© restricted quarters provided for the late Sir Ernest Shackleton's dog at the Auckland Zoo were referred to at the meeting of the Auckland City Council on Thursday evening by, the chairman of the Parks Committee (Mr. J. A. Warnock). He said'that the committee had been painfully aware that the dog was riot properly honsed, but the reason for that was that the Government had been asked to take it back, but had not' felt inclined to do so (reports the " New Zealand Herald "). In consequence the animal was removed from the Zoo about a week ago,, having been taken over by the Zoo caretaker, Mr. Hurley, who would see that the dog would bo cared for.
