QUESTION OF CONDUCT.

The Press controversy respecting the conduct at the Artists' Ball left its readers somewhat, bewildered in view of the emphatic and conflicting reports of the different dailies. The police now report that the ball was conducted on proper lines upstairs in thn Town Hall, but unseemly behaviour on the part of male and female dancers took place in the overflow dance in the basement wheTe dancers of .both sexes showed signs of over-indulgence of liquor. "
