10,000 TONS PER WEEK FROM
NEWCASTLE.
Whatever coal shortage roay have been pperienced in some parts of the Dominion recently, the position has now been considerably, - relieved by importations cAo^ Austll iil 'a. '.Since '38th! August 50,000 tons of coal have been shipped from Newcastle to New Zealand ports and shipments will be continued under contracts now made at the rate of. not less than 10,000 tons per week." From the point of view of the consumer, 'therefore, the .position is now very/ satisfactory, -an<i .the shortages which prevailed a few weeks" ago 'in Wellington and bhnstchurch are definitely relieved.
