(»t- TELKBKAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) GHRISTCHTJRCH, This Day. TKt eleventh' anniial conference of the New Zealand Journalists' Association concluded at Christchurch to-day, when delegates were present from the four centres.
-■ A motion wns oarried expressing deep regret at the death of America's journalist President.
The question of providing retiring al£o newspaper employees was discussed, arid it was decided to ask for the co-operation of kindred grgatiisations in the newspaper trade.
After heaving Mr. A. G. Henderson, lecturer oil Journalism at Canterbury College, who attended by invitation, and eSplained the; scope nnd intentions of the gift of £3000, made to Canterbury C6l''l&ge by Mr. Robert Bell, and alirb the conditions necessary for the attainment of a diploma of Journalism, the confere ence' resolved to make' strongs representations .to the Government agairist the coritinued failure to pay a subsidy on Mr. Bell's gift.
The retifiiig officers were re-efccted. It was" decided that the headquarters of this association should remain ait OhmE-.
