After a most spectacular "exhibition of B,ugby, the New Plymouth Bays' High School successfully defended their title tq the Moascar Cup by defeating Te Aute College by 18 points to 8. The game was played in ideal weather m the presence of 8000 people. Throughout, the play was fast and open. The New Plymouth Higlu Sphqpl showed greater precision in handling and passing, though Te Aute played a hard game, spiritedly atVgkijig tp the last. Te ■Ante'? tackling was deadly, while the heavy, speedy forwards were quickly down on the High School backs, who, however, were able on occasions' to outpace the opposition. Tjie' game all %ough was full of incident and excitement, Te Aute started splendidly, scoring Wthin a few minutes of th<j opening, Wanog, kicking o penalty goal. Hbyes equalised shortly afterwards for High School, and he nlsb scored later on. Othep High School tries were obtained by Golding and Brown (a young provincial representative), who also kicked three goals, from tries.
