In the House of Representatives, the Labour-Party "moved for an increase in the old ago pension to twenty shillings a week. ■ : The Prime Minister, Mr. Bruce, stated that -if. this were carried it would "be regarded as a vote of no confidence. (Received 25th August, 11 a :m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. The Labour amendment on the Pensions Bill was defeated by 37 votes to 01. Mr. W. M. Hughes voted with the Labour Party.
