One of the finest "fight" stories yet screened in Wellington-occupies theiead-' ing place on the programme ' at tbe Paramount and Artcraft Theatres From the pen of the late Jack London, "The Abysmal Brute" provides all that the picture-lover requires in thrills, leavened with a proper element of romance. Reginald Denny, popular star of "The Leather Pushers, occupies the leading role, and the supporting cast includes a number of new stars in the roped arena.. The story tells-of the adventures of a boxer in the realm of love, and is told in delightful manner. A boxer meets a society girl under thrilling circumstances on a fashionable beach, where he takes part ma sensational rescue from drowning. Ihe girl does not know that he is a professional fighter, and from this circumstances arises a- number of complications which are finally overcome The second feature is "California Romance, John Gilbert and Estelle Taylor playing the leading roles.
