A BAD GIRL

AUCKLAND, 16th' August. 'A girl aged-' fifteen was before Mr. J. W. Poynton, S.M., to-day. She bad for some months been holding up children at street corners and stealing money from them. Her mother thought she was in employment.'as she brought home regularly, fifteen shillings a week. Innumerable complaints had been made by parents to the police, and mantraps were set. Eventually accused was caught taking 7s B£d and 17s 6s from two children who were sent shopping. The Magistrate ordered accused to be committed to the Christchurch Receiving Home.
