The dear old woman tramped miles over the hills to get a bottle of medicine for a. small boy who was ill in her remote village. When she had described th» symptoms, the doctor set about preparing the mixture, one ingredient of which was a poison which could be administered iv only "the smallest quantities. Khe watched him pouring it out with utmost cara into the measuring glass. He poured a little from the bottle, held the glass up to. the light, and then put in a few more droris. "Ah. doctor." she said, reproachfully, you needna be sac stingy. Hnmember, it's for a jjuir wee orphan laddie. .
