Police and summons cases were dealt ■ witn by Mr. E. Page, S.M., at the Magistrates Court yesterday. Two first offenders for drunkenness who did not appear, were ordered to forfeit the amounts of their bail. 10s in each case. ,• .
Charged with vagrancy, in that she liacl no lawful visible means of support a middle-aged woman named Wilhimina ■Ulink, was sentenced to two months' imprisonment.
For .Sunday trading, Reuben Earl, Elizabeth Goldstraw, Maude Horton and Martha Lingard were each fined £1 and costs. ■ ■
William Innes, who had failed 'to keep a dog under proper control, was fined 10s and costs.
For committing a breach of his prohibition order, Thomas Joseph M'Grath was fined 10s and costs. ■ i Charles Le Clerq and Company, who Had failed to provide the necessary heaters in their factory, were fined kl and costs. ■ . ■ ■ ■ ; • ■
rn. F°f in a public place Charles Johnston, 48 years of age, and a married woman named Flora May Shed, 28 rears of ago, were each sente"ced to 21 days' imprisonment. Ihe use of obscene lahguage in a railway carriage resulted in John Emil Sass being fined £3 and costs.
