SCOTS CHURCH, SEATOUN

The annual meeting,of the congregation of fccots Church, Seatoun, was hold on Thursday, the Rev. R. Inglis presiding, ilio membership had increased by 11 and every department of the work of tho church showed progress. The gross revenue for the year was £848, and there was a good balanco on the ordinary revenue to the church's credit. It was unanimously agreed to increase tha stipend of the minister. Tho now ohurch at Miramar had been opened at a- cost of £700, the bulk o£ which had been paid. The church was already too small for the requirements ot the Sunday eohool and Biblo classes, and an extension was urgently required. At the close of the meeting was taken by the congregation to congratulate Mr. and Mrs. E. Johnson, of fceateim,' two of tho oldest members, on reaching the 50th year of their married me. A largo wedding cake, made by Mrs. Wesney, was cut and handed round. Mr. A. P. Smith, in the name of the congregation, presented Mi-. Johnson with a gold-mounted ash walking stick suitably engraved, and Mrs. Inglis presented Mrs. Johnson with a handsome- lady's bag-, also suitably engraved with initials and the dates 1873-1923. Mr. Johnson made a fitting reply. During the- evening Mesdames Pottit and Young and Mr. and Mrs. Jordan contributed songs. The proceedings terminated with tho singing of * "Auld Lang Syne" by all presont.
