NEW ZEALAND TEAM LEAVES
FOR SYDNEY.
Prior to their departure for Sydney by the Marama to-day, the members of the New Zealand cross-country team which is to compete at the Sydney and Australasian championships were the guests at a function arranged by the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association. Mr. A. Davies, chairman of the New Zealand Council, was in the chair, and others present included members of the Wellington Centre. Messages of good luck were conveyed to the team, and the hope was expressed that they would meet with success. If, however, they were defeated, they would be the first to congratulate the winners. Eulogistic reference was made to the efforts of the manager of the team (Mr. S. Hall), who was largely responsible for the trip being made possible. During tile function the chairman presented the medals won by the Wellington team at the New Zealand championships' at Christcburch last Saturday. The members of the team are as follow :—Nalder (Canterbury), Tapp (Otago). A. Barclay, T. Wilson, and Rose (Wellington). A. Page (Wellington) accompanied the team, being sent to the championships by his club. The team is in charge of Mr. S. Hall,'
