QUEEN'S THEATRE.
Army life is usually thought of as a serious proposition, but that the service has its humorous side is shown in ''The Gentleman from America," Hoot Gibson's latest starring vehicle, now, showing at the Queen's Theatre. When a "doughboy" is restrained by discipline for long months, and then suddenly gets two weeks' furlough, the natural thing for him to do is to let loose with all his natural exuberance. When he is in a strange country and can't speak the native language, his exuberance is like* ly to lead to complications of sorts.. That is precisely what happens in "The Gentleman from America," which, in addition to Hoot Gibson, stars Louise Lorraine and Carmen Phillips. The sup-> porting films include the latest Inter* national News, a Burton Holmes Tra* velogue, and a clever Century comedy,, "Smarty." The Queen's Grand Orches« tra, under the direction of Mr. A.HHr. r Jerome, plays the full musical score of Bizet's grand opera, "Carmen.". Thd box plan is at The Bristol.
