HOCKEY
REPRESENTATIVE FIXTURES CAN-1 CELLED.At the meeting of the Wellington Hockey Association held last evening, it was decided that, owing to continued wet weather, it has been found -necessary to cancel all further representative fixtures for the season. Tin's does not affect the match North Island v. South Island on the 18th instant. It was decided to nominate Mr. H. Hatch as one of the referees for this match.
Mr. Tarr was appointed to fill the vacancy on the committee caused by the t resignation of Mr. P. Atkinson. General regret was expressed at Mr. Atkinson's retirement, and eulogistic remarks were passed regarding the services rendered by Mr. Atkinson to the game in Wellington.
Mr. G. M. Fildes was appointed to the Match and Transfer Committee.
It was decided that the fixtures as set down for last Saturday b 0 proceeded with this Saturday.
