The reports of four English and one Scottish brewery companies, recently issued show that profits have been maintained at last year's level, and they are pay ing big dividends. But the most successful of all is the Dublin firm of Guinness and Son, which last year paid a dividend of 29 per cent., a i\d this year a dividend and bonus equal to 36 per cent, on capital as it existed last year Actually, the present dividend is equal to 72 per cent, on the original capital for sharenolders have received two share bonuses equal in amount to the original ordinary capital.
