WORKLESS EX-SOLDIERS
EARL HAIG'S APPEAL.

LONDON, 4th Augiiat. Earl Haig published a letter reminding the public on 4th August that it Is liow nine years^ since the incident of the scrap of .paper, : and recalls the promises to the fighting men, and asks flow they have been fulfilled. He states that about five thouaanJ ex-officers are still seeking work, a hundred thousand wholly or partially-disabled ex-service men are forced to look to charity to supplement their exiguous pensions, and four hundred thousand- who are capable of working are unable to find it. Earl Haig appeals for contributions to his fund.
