WELLINGTON JUNIORS

EASILY DEFEAT NELSON JUNIORS

NELSON,. 4th August. The Wellington junior representatives defeated the Nelson juniors on Saturday by 17 points to 0. Rain, which fell on the previous night and up to the commencement of the game, left a great portion of the ground under water, though no rain fell during the match. Wellington had the game well in hand all through, but the condition of the ground was against a decent exhibition. The visitors at times handled the ball well, and had better conditions prevailed in all probability they would have won by a bigger margin. Morgan (2), Halley, and Hester scored, Myers converting one and also kicking a penalty goal. Barter, Desmond, Hall, and Watts were the best forwards, and Morgan Sidet, and Halley the best backs for Wellington. For Nelson Max and Baigent [forwards) and Nightingale (back) were most prominent.
