CRIMEAN AND MAORI WARS.
One of Blenheim's oldest residents, Mr. Richard Ball, died on Saturday at the age of 90. Born in Cornwall,'Mi-. Ball served as ' a young man in the Royal Navy,- subsequently joined the army and taking part in the Crimean War. When the Maori War broke out, his regiment was sent to New. Zealand, and Mr. Ball saw several years of service with the troops. After peace was declared he decided to remain in New Zealand, and settled at Nelson 40 years ago. Mr. Ball is survived by six children, 30 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren.
