INTER-ISLAND MATCH TO-MORROW

The biggest event of the Rugby cal-' endar, outside international matches, is to take place at Athletic Park to-mor-row afternoon, when the chosen players from the North and South Islands wiU engage in the annual inter-Island clash Many of the players will be making their first appearance as Island representatives, and, as their form will be closely watched in view of the selection of the New Zealand team to meet New South Wales, they will b e out to give their very best. That will ensure a fine game of football, as is usually the case when North meets South, and if the weather j-emains. fine the game should be fast and open, with the forwards carrying just about as much responsibility as the backs. The personnel of'the teams occasioned some surprise, but there can be ro doubt that some of th e Dominion's best players will, be seen in action. At any rate, they represent their respective Islands, and the battle for supremacy should be well up to the standard of former years. It may even prove to be better. Great interest is being taken in the match, and it is expected that there will be an attendance of something like 16,000. • M*m*>. ers of b°tk teams assembled in Wellington to-day, and indulged in practice.at Kelburn Park. - Jacob arrives to-night, and M'Lean and M'Carthy tomorrow..
