. LONDON, 17th July. At the Congress of the International Society of Surgery 4CO world-renowned surgeons awaited an address by Dr. Banting, the discoverer of the insulin cure for diabetes. When he mounted the plattorm there was an expectant hush. Dr Banting was obviously nervous, arid began in a.- rapid, colourless monotone about technicalities. .When he referred to insulin he took exactly one minute the cover the wonderful discovery, then he stopped abruptly, and left the hall hurriedly, before the audience had time to applaud. Later, he stated that his researches had not been finished, and he was not going to- say a word more
