... LONDON, ,18th July. . Sir Nevillo Chamberlain, presiding at a Government luncheon to the delegates to the Surgeons' Conference, said that during the last twenty years the death rate in Britain had been- reduced frofn 17 to 13 per thousand. The, extension of life had been increased by about ten years. This was indubitably due to tho advancement of surgical science.
