Nash (Pahnerston North) gave notice to ask the Prime Minister if he will • consider the question of subsidising county councils to a greater extent, so that' they will bo able to keep the main roads in better ofder to enablo returned soldiers and others to,continue their business as carriers of Roods.. The Prime Minister announced that all the-reports of the Soldiors' Land Revising Board are to hand. As there is a lack of uniformity in them the Land* Department is putting them into shapo for submission to the Government. The reports' will be followed by legislative acton vuthoufc..;the..slightest delay. 1 Replying to-"Mr.-liysnai' '(Gisborne). the Prime Minister stated that he would have, no objection to referring to the Agricultural and Pastoral Committee, for inquiry and report, the proposals of the New Zealand Farmers' Union and Producers' Committee to establish a produc-' ers' mercantile marine. He would, of course, have to consult the Minister of Agriculture on' the matter. ■
