"A FINE RECOVERY"
DOMINION'S FINANCIAL POSITION.
The Prime Minister stated in' the House of Representatives this morning that on the last quarter's figures the country was £433,000 to the good. Up to the end of June the' exports ' for the year had amounted to £47.000,000, which was a record. This country absolutely depended oh its exports. During the time the Government had been in office the exports had doubled. Tliev amounted to £23,000,000 annually when the Government came in.
The Prime Minister reminded the House of the recent very satisfactory bank returns, which showed what a fine recovery, the Dominion was makitio- from bad times. He was also glad to shy that Post Office Savings Bank deposits were now substantially in excess of withdrawals. ' • ;.
