MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Mr- F.K. Hunt, S.M., presided at the Magistrate's' Court to-day when police and maintenance cases were heard. Two first offenders for drunkenness, who did not appear, were ordered to forfeit the amounts of their bail, 10s, in each. case. Robert O'Leaj-y, with two .previous convictions, was fined "£l, in default three days' imprisonment. Chanred with obtaining £2 10s from Reginald Davies, by falsely representing that he was collecting for advertisements lor the Is ew Zealand School .Journal." Herbert Macknelly was remanded until to-morrow, bail bom/ fixed at £50. ChiefDetective Kemp intimated that a further charge involving a 6Um o { a b o ut £100 wajjPendmn -israinst-the accused. Charged with slenHiiff a suitcase and contents valued at £14 10s, Thomas Mullen was remanded to appear at Westport on 21st mst. ■
At. a sitting of the Wellington South Police Court, before Mr. W. H. Coy,: J.P., this morning, a first • offender for drunkenness was fined 10s, or,in default <A hours' imprisonment. '
Th IS morning, at the Mount Cook lolice Court, before Mr. R, D. Hanlon, J.P.,.two first offenders for drunkenness were convicted arid fined 10s, the amount of their bail. Two other first offenders, who appeared, were convicted and fined os. Olaf Strom, an- old' offender for drunkenness^, was convicted and discharged. ■ ■
