WASHINGTON, 14th July. Following on the French ratification of the Washington Naval Treaties, Mr. Denby (Secretary of the Navy)' has called a meeting of the American Naval Council to decide on a programme for scrapping all* American warships provided for in the Treaty. Seven battleships . and four battlecruisers now under construction, and fifteen existing battleships; will be dismantled.
