VICE-REGAL.

His Excellency the Governor-General (Lord Jellicoe) is to visit Hawera during thp first, week of July. He will leave 'Wellington on 2nd July, and on his arrival at Hawera in the evening will open "Empire Week." ■ On the following day His Excellency will open the show, afterwards motoring to Martnn to attend the Rangitikei Hunt Club races, to be held on 4th July, and tho Hunt Club ball on the evening of sth July. He will return to Wellington on 6th July, arriving at midday by the Auckland express. The Hon. Lucy Jellicoa will accompany the Governor-Gen-eral. They will stay at the residence of Mr. D. Riddiford while at Marton.

Mr. H. Gould, assistant town clerk and treasurer to the Eastbourne Borough Council, has resigned that position, and Mr. F. A. Lloyd has beett appointed in his place.
