, LONDON, 20th June, The second qualifying round, played at Gleneagles in beautiful weather, was noted for the brilliant scores of Jones; who is 52 years of age, the veteran professional of Wimbledon Park. He played without flaw and broke the record for the course with a round of 67 (but 35 and home 32), which was the best effort of his long career. Kirkwood did not live up to yesterday's form and took 75.
Thn following are the leading scores for the second round and aggregates: Oke, 70, 143; Jones, 67, 143; Ball, 70 145; Ray, 73, 146; Kirk wood. 75, 146; Barnes, 74. 147; Hovers, 75, 147. The fhirty-two leaders begin the match play to-morrow.
