LONDON, 14th June.

The butter market is dull, chiefly owing to heavy supplies of Danish reducing the price here to about 156s per cwt. New Zealand choicest is quiet at 1565, and exceptionally good lots 160s. Australian choicest, of which little is offering, is quoted at about 150s. The cheese market is quiet. Quotations: New Zealand, 86s to 88s; Australian, 80s to 84s. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house, under date of 14th June:— v Butter.—"Very slow market. New Zealand, salted 154s (158s); Australian, good average quality 142s (1525); Danish, 152g (158s); finest Australian salted 150s (xs2s), unsalted 150s (1525). Cheese.—Market very slow. White 86» (90s), coloured 84s (88s); Canadian, c.i.f. quotation, 82s (86s). Imports of butter into the United Kingdom for month of May, 541,000 cwt, compared with 396,000 cwt for the corresponding month last year. Last week's prices shown in parentheses.
