INTENSE FIGHTING?
STAMBOULISKI ESCAPES.
JPARIS, 14th June. The latest news from Sofia is that there has. been intense fighting in the village of Slavkovitza. where M. Staiubouliski's brother, Deputy Vassil Stambouliski, was killed while defending the late Premier's cause. The peasants were defeated by artillery, after making a brave resistance, in whieli they suffered hundreds of casualties.
M. Stanibouliski himself escaped in a motor-car, and is believed to have reached the mountains. The Minister of Agriculture, M. Oboff, crossed the Danuba into Rumania.
Fignung continues in Bulgaria, but the peasants have few arms mid no artillery, so that they have small chance of victory,
LONDON, 14th June. The Belgrade correspondent ot the "Morning Post" reports important movements of peasants in the interior of Bulgaria, tie says that M. iStamboulisld witti his supporters is retreating to the coast along the Maritza, pursued by Government* troops.
The Sofia correspondent of the "Daily Express' 1 reports that the authorities state that they found a plot organised by M. Stambouliski's Government to remove all political opponents. It had been decided to make a raid in Sofia on 10th June, and to suppress opposition by the most violent means, including murder.
