| MUCH GOOD BOWLING, (Received 26th May, 2.45 p.m.) LONDON, 25th May. In county cricket Middlesex (338 for seven wickets, declared, Hendren 152), drew with Essex (93 and 224 for six wickets). The feature of the match was the bowling of N. Atkinson, a young amateur, .making his first appearance for Middlesex. He is a left-hander of medium place, and took five wickets for 16 in the first innings. Notts (183 and 266 for four wickets, declared) beat Northants. (115 and 148, Richmond taking five wickets, for 28). Yorkshire (113 andi 162 for six wickets declared) beat Warwickshire (110 and' 80). Oxford University (234) beat Gloucestershire (71 and 119, Bettington taking three wickets for 12, and four wickets for 19).
