JURY IN MURDER TRIAL",
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION COPYRIGHT.} (Eeceived 25th May, 11 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. The jury was unable to agree on a verdict in the Kelly murder trial.
Kelly was charged with murdering a Mrs. Overall. Giving evidence on his own behalf he said that Mrs. Overall drank heavily. He said to her that he would find her dead some day. She replied : "If you do, cremate me, keep my remains on the place, and don't, tell anyone." When she died he remembered her request, and rolled the body in blankets, burned it, and put the ashes in a bag_ and dropped it into the Yarra. He denied the alleged conversations with Oliver and Kennedy, two prisoners who said he had confessed to murdering Mrs. Overall.
