PREMIER OF NORWAY. (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COFIRIOHT.) (AUSTRALIAN-NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) CHRISTIANIA, 23rd May. Obituary.—M. Halvorsen, Premier, MR. JOHN CAIRNS, M.P. LONDON, 23rd May. Mr. John Cairns, Labour M.P. for Morpeth, is dead.
Mr. Cairas entered Parliament in 1918, .shortly after receiving the 0.8. E. He was financial secretary of the Northumberland Miners' Association; secretary of the men's side of the, Joint Committee in the Northumberland coal trade, and president of the Northumberland Aged Mine Workers' Homes Association. He wrote several works on economic subjects.
