THE PRESENT POSITION
SUMMARISED BY THE MAYOR.
| 'A comprehensive eummaxy of tie eta.te of the city'sl finanoes was made by the Mayor (Mr. R. A. Wright, M.P.) before the City Council this afternoon after the installation ceremony. The following statement ehowedi the position of the bank account to date :— Debit. Credit. £ £ Abattoir Account — 2,676 District Fund Account 4,649 — Electric Lighting Account . ' — 18,682 General Accident Fund .... — 1.684 Milk Account 600 — Tramways Account — 29,975 Tramways and Lighting '' Accident Fund — 20,486 Tramways Reserve Account — 31,667 5,249 99,170 Net Credit on Revenue r Account* 93,921 There were also on fixed deposit at the Union Bank £100,000 from the electric lighting account, and £20,798 from the electric lighting and power reserve account. REVENUE AND EXPENDITURE. The consolidated statement of revenue and expenditure for the year ended 31st March, 1923, was as follows :— Revenue.
