THE PRESENT POSITION

SUMMARISED BY THE MAYOR.

| 'A comprehensive eummaxy of tie eta.te of the city'sl finanoes was made by the Mayor (Mr. R. A. Wright, M.P.) before the City Council this afternoon after the installation ceremony. ' — 18,682 General Accident Fund .... — 1.684 Milk Account 600 — Tramways Account — 29,975 Tramways and Lighting '' Accident Fund — 20,486 Tramways Reserve Account — 31,667 5,249 99,170 Net Credit on Revenue r Account* 93,921 There were also on fixed deposit at the Union Bank £100,000 from the electric lighting account, and £20,798 from the electric lighting and power reserve account. REVENUE AND EXPENDITURE. The consolidated statement of revenue and expenditure for the year ended 31st March, 1923, was as follows :— Revenue.
