NO SIGNS OF MISSING MEN.

BLENHEIM, This Day. Rain is still falling intermittently, but the rivers have fallen considerably. There is no sign yet of E. Roßinson and the farmlad Gledhill. Two parties searched a wide area yesterday in boats, and to-day search parties are systematically going over the country., A party left Blenheim on Sunday for Christchurch, but were stopped at Ward and returned from Ward yesterday, the thirty-four miles occupying the whole day. ■ The party confirm the serious damage to the Clarence Bridge and to the approaches of Ure Bridge. Flaxbourne Bridge is quite safe. It is reported that Hapuku Bridge was washed away, but this lacks confirmation. The mails held up at Tuamarina were brought to Blenheim yesterday afternoon by a six-horse wagon. The water was found to be very deep, up to the horses' girths. About half a dozen passengers came from Tuamarina to Blenheim on fne wagon. The return mail was sent out by wagon at 7.15 this morning from Blenheim. It was found yesterday that' Onamalutu and Terou could not be communicated with. Settlers brought the . mails across the hills to the main road .up Onamalutu Valjey. Large areas at Dillon's Point, Grovetown, Spring Creek, and Tuamarina are still inundated. Practically the whole of Lower Wairau is -inundated. There has been ,a tremendous loss of stock, but it is impossible yet to give any estimate what this loss will mean. Marlborough town presents a desolate dreary scene. All fences have been washed out. In a paddock close to Spring Creek station A". Vickers lost 400 sheep. All the houses at the Maori i Pa are inundated.
