GERMAN PRISONERS REVOLT.

The 'Daily Chronicle's" Berlin correspondent reports that 800 inmates of the Brandenburg prison revolted and over, whelmed the warders because they were not allowed Jo smoke or have freedom of choice of reading ■ matter, a thousand marks a day extra, pay for convict labour, and more and better food. The convicts, who include the most desperate criminals in Germany, smashed the furniture in the cells, broke the windows, and tore tiles from the roof, the damage amounting _to hundreds of millions of markß. Finally armed police laid siege to the prison, firing upon the rebels. Xne prison is still surrounded.
