DAVIS CUP MATCH
VENUE OF FIRST AUSTRALIAN GAME.
(TOIIED PBBSS ASSOCIATION.—COPTRICHT.) (Received 10th May, 10 a.m.)
SYDNEY, This Day. America and Hawaii have cabled to Australia asking that the Davis Cup match against Hawaii be played there. Australia is opposed to this on account of the fact that a fortnight's delay is entailed in breaking the journey. There is the further, objection that, Anderson is not used to _ the asphalt court, which ■would necessitate a change in bis strokes. It ia also contended that by playing in America the Australians would have an opportunity to practice on grass courts. The draw for the first round is Australia versus Hawaii, and Canada, versus. Japan. There is no bye as previously announced.
