CHRISTCHURCH, 9th May. • Mr. Bennett, Superintendent of Telegranhs, stated that this morning there were still no. wires to the North Island via East Coast, but an improved circuit had-been procured from Christchurch, via Greymouth, Nelson, and Blenheim direct to Wellington: By this rii-cnifci the telegraph office was now Dnnbled to work tho multiplex fastprihting machine, which was ■ doing splendid'work, ami was practically coping with nil tho work coming to hand.
