CERIOUS CHARGE AGAINST AN OLD MAN
Described by the Crown Prosecutor (Mr; P. S. K. .Macassey) as a retired solicitor now living at Petone on an oldage pension, William Nott Gooday, almost 80 years of age, was charged at the Supreme Court to-day with indecently assaulting, a young girl within a month of twelve years of age. He pleaded not guilty.
The Chief Justice (Sir Eobert Stout) presided, and the prisoner was represented by Mr. A. B. Sievwright. Mr. Ernest Batchelor was foreman of the jury-.. (Proceeding,)
