LOCAL CONTROLLING BODY.

The Wellington Rugby Union'a Management Committee held it* weekly meeting last evening, tho»e present heing:—Messrs. J. Prendeville (chairman), W. J. Hardham, S. G. Hale, E. Perry, J. N. Millard, F. A. Laws, A. Jackson, G. F. Jackson (treasurer), A. E. Neilson (Wellington Rugby Referees' Association), H. Murphy, F. J. M - Comisky (secretary), and Father Kane. In response to a request from the Wellington Amateur Athletic Club, which had not been financially successful with its sports meeting at the end of the season, it was decided that a rebate of £5 be made from the charges to the club.

The Petone Ladies' Hockey Club was granted permission to arrange for the marking out of two grounds on the Petone Oval for ladies' hockey. A report was made by the Eastbourne Club that the Day's Bay ground was in a very bad state. The club requested that teams to play at Eastbourne travel by the 1.20 p.m. boat? and that the matches start at 2.30 p.m. It was decided to meet the request as far as possible H !

A proxest was made by the Boys' Institute Football Club against the decision_ of the referee in the seventh grade,i Institute B v. Poneke, match, last Saturday. It was considered that, as only four boys of the Poneke team and two of the Institute team appeared, the decision of a'default should not have been given.—The Referees' Association, is to be asked to furnish a report on the matter.

Iv connection with a notification that the V.M.C.A. Club was unable to get together an intermediate team for this season, it was decided that the club be asked to show cause why it should not be fined.

A ruling was'asked by the Hutt Club regarding a mistake which had been made in the time which the Hutt-Ber-hampore fourth grade match had occupied last Saturday. It was stated that the referee had called time eight minutes too early. The matoh had been won by Berhampore by 6 points to nil.—The club is to be informed of the previous decision on the point that the referee's time is accepted as final. The Wellington College Old Boys' Club notified that it .would not bo able to run a B team inHbe fourth grade. The entry of a sixth grade team by the Olympic Club was accepted. In reporting the fact that the Forjru* third grade team had defaulted to Johnsonvilfi} last Saturday the secretary of the Johnsonville Club made a claim, under clause 7, rules of club matches, of 30s (expenses incurred for transportation to honour the engagement) from the Porirua Club. The latter club notified that it was unable to continue its third grade team. —The Porirua Club is lo be asked to show cause why it should not be fined and should not pay the amount of the Johnsonville team s travelling expenses. An offer by the City Council of the use of the ground at Miramar at a fee of £10 10s was accepted. A letter was received from the Community Club contradicting the statement that the fifth grade Selwyn B team had been withdrawn on account of intending members changing over to the Community Club. AMI inquiry had been , made amongst the latter club's members, all of whom had stated that they had never intended to play for Selwyn. H. M'Mahon applied for reinstatement, '.and it was decided to favourably recommend the application to the New Zealand Rugby Union.

NEXT WEEK'S FIXTURES. Senior fixtures for Saturday week were decided upon as follow: — Athletic v. Poneke, Athletic Park. Berhampore v. Wellington, Newtown Park.
