DAIRY PRODUCE INCREASE
WHAT THE GRADINGS SHOW.
, Figures of the Dairy Division of the .of..Agriculture show that : salted butter graded for. Apri1,1923, was--i84,909 cwt,, and suhsalted;422s. cwt., as "compared.with.a.total 0f'78,200 cwt. for •April last-year, heing an increase of ''. 13.98 per cent.
Eor nine "month's ended April, 1923, the 'respective quantities were 1,199,830 cwt. ■■' and 79,433 cwt., as compared with a total of 916,410 cwt. of butter, an in- ■ creaso of 39.59 per cent."
Cheese graded for April, 1 1923, comprised,- white 68,051 cwt., coloured 47,650 cwt., as. compared) ■ with. 1 118,254 cwt. for" Zpril, 1923, a decrease of:■ .2.ls'per cent. Totals for the nine- monthsended. April, 1923, - were .white 709,381 cwt., coloured 4Q8,295 cwt., as compared with a total" of 1,192,----"675 cwt., a decrease of 6.28 per cent. Converting" these figures into butter.fat equivalent, there is an increase of 22.37 per cent, in butter-fat production ■■{or the nine:. monthß as compared with the corresponding period of 1921-22.
