TWELVE DAYS' BREAD AND WATER

AUCKLAND, This Day. In the Police Court, Edgar Calvert, a prisoner in Mount Eden gaol, was sentenced to twelve days' solitary confinement and bread and water for making false complaints against a responsible officer 'of the institution. Calvert becamo notoriouis as a bogut collector for the Jubilee Institute of-the Blind.
