THE CARPENTIER-NILLES FIGHT.

PARIS, Oth May. There were twenty thousand spectators at the fight between Georges Carpentier and Marcel Nilles for the heavyweight championship of B'rance. Nilles weighed 1731b, and Carpentier 1631b. The fighting- was even till the end of the fifth round, when Carpentier began to show some of his old form. In the sixth round he floored Nilles for nine, and in the eighth a splendidly-timed right to the jaw put him out. The winner was accorded,a great ovation.
