NEW ZEALAND WORKERS' UNION
ELECTION OP OFFICERS.
The New Zealand Workers' Union recently conducted a ballot for the election of officers, and the returning officer, Mr. A:. Parlane, has declared the results as follows:—
National president, Mr. C. E. Baldwin ; national. vice-presidents, Messrs.. T. Cartwright and J. Townsend; national secretary, Mr. C. , Grayndler; national councillors, Auckland district, Mr. W. Murdoch, Wellington construction workers, Mr. J. Thorn,, Wellington A. and P workers, Mr. R. Tutaki, Canterbury A and P. workers, Mr. O. J. F. M'Kee, organising secretary Flaxworkers' section, Mr. P. T. Robinson; delegates to conference, Canterbury district, Messrs A. Brown and 0. J. F. M'Kee, Wellington diatrict, Messrs. J. Townsend and R. Tutaki, Auckland district, Mr. W. Murdoch ; North Island construction workers, Mr. George R.- Hall, South Island construction !workers, Mr. M. Gibbons, Marlborough "A. and P. workers, Mr. T. Cartwrigh,t, Otago and Southland workers, Mr. A. J. Middlemiss; national organisers, Messrs. Baldwin, Bopne, Whyte, Townsend, M'Kee. and Midalemiss. ' ■ •
The following issues were also submitted to a ballot:—(1) "Are you in favour of all workers, irrespective of colour, caste, or creed, becoming members of New Zealand workers' unions?" (2) "Are you in favour of withdrawing from-the'Australasian Workers' Union (O.B:U.?)" (3)'. "Are you in favour of cancelling registration under the Arbitration Act of. all unions amalgamated with the New Zealand Workers' Union?"
The first proposal was carried, and the second and third were rejected.
