BACKING FOR POLAND
FOCH'S SIGNIFICANT SPEECH.
WARSAW, 6th May. Marshal Foch and M. Pilsudski • have been conferring on military matters on the eve of the Polish military manoeuvres, which Marshal Foch will attend. Speaking at a banquet, the French marshal said that France would stand by Poland in her national reconstruction, and also in the maintenance and enforcement of existing treaties. He declared that Poland must be able, in the event of war, to mobilise 600,000 men.
