CHINESE TRAIN HOLD-UP

PEKIN, 6th May. Messages from Pekin confirm the report that bandits wrecked an express train in China near Shantung, and imprisoned the passengers, among whom was_ Mr. Robert Swift, the publisher of a group of American newspapers. The State Department is still without confirmation regarding tha details of the Shantung wreck, but promises to make strong representations to flhina as soon as information is received.
