Mr. L. D. Austin, after many years' «M.-v lC e with the New Zealand Picture supplies, Limited, has severed his connection with that firm. He will resume his position of musical director at the -K-ing s Theatre whei? it reopens. Captain Edwin T. Pollock, Governor of American Samoa, and Commander Ertz and Dr. Humphreys, who are in his_ company during his New Zealand visit, were guests of the Wellington Savage Club on Saturday evening. Colonel Tate, late Administrator of Samoa, was ™ present. The guests included, also, Mr. # M'Pherson, who was for some time foreign editor of the London "Daily Mail." _ '. Preceded by an impressive service, the funeral of the victim of the fatal fire at the Y.W.O.A. Hostel. Miss Ina Gourlay, took place at the Karori Cemetery this morning. There was a large and representative attendance of citizens, those present including the Mayor of Wellington (Mr. K. A. Wright, M.P.), Messrs. T. E. Corkhill, A. L. Hunt, R. H. Webb, H. D. Bennett, D. 0. M'Clay, A. Smith (president of the Y.M.C.A.), R. Edmonds (secretary of the V.M.C.A.), C. D. Morpeth, S. D. Pope, members of the board, Mesdames M'Clay (president of the Y.W.C.A.), Corkhill, Ogilvie, ' and Misses Lawson and E. Duiilop (general secretary of the Y.W.C.A.). Several relatives of the deceased were also in attendance. The oflfiTating clergyman was the Rev. iur. Holland, of the Cambridge Terrace Congregational Church.
