LONDON, 6th May.
Biga reports state that under Bishop Antonin's directions the Red Church Convocation at .Moscow declared that the Patriarch Tikhon should be unfrocked, deprived of his dignities, excluded from all monasteries, and relegated to the condition of a layman. The Coir, nation called upon, all clergy to renounce their attempts'to use the Church for worldly aijd political purposes, but added.that every believer must be faithful to the Soviet and assist the Soviet to realise on earth the ideals of the Kingdom of God. M. Vedensky declared that the his■torical. duty of the Russian. Orthodox Church consisted of the recognition .of the truth of Communism. It must cease to serve capital. .... The Convocation also declared the Patriarchate to.be abolished, and in favour of clergy of. all ranks being allowed to marry, and widowed priests to 1 re-' marry. . . .
