A PERSONAL TRIBUTE
TO THE PRIME MINISTER
AN ADDRESS FROM AUCKLAND.

■■•' AUCKLAND, This Day. A meetinc of the Citizens' Committee adopted the text of the address for presentation to Mr.' AY. F. Massey on Empire Day.' The Mayor said the function would be in no sense rjolitical, but was intended as a real tribute to Mr. Mas-. sey's personal worth and eervjoes. The address will be illuminated, in a carved arid decorated receptacle of New Zealand woods. The address will be presented at a citizensi'. gathering, when a presentation will also be made to Mrs. Massey in_ recognition of her faithful co-operation with the Premier in his public works. Arrangements have been made for the presence of massed bands and a guard of honour of Boy Scouts. Business people will be asked to close their premises from noon till 2 p.m. and the Education Board to allow school children- a halfholiday.
