EASY WIN FOR WATERSIDERS.

Welgascq made their first appearance in the A division, but it was not by _any' means an auspicious one, Watersiders scoring an easy victory by 13 sroal» to 2. Although the heavier team,, Welgasco were outgeneralled'by the clever tactics adopted "by Watersiders. The teams were as follow:—

Watersiders : M'Lean, Ingfoanij Jackson, Bell, Jones, Irvine, Cobuxn, Palmer, Anton, Gilbert, and Peterson. Welgaeco: Egerton, Gibson, Hargreaves, Thompson, Turner, Lbgie, M'Ardell, Pugh,- Smith, Blackstone, and Plitheroe.

Gasco won tho toss, and from the start made the pace swift. They kept Watersiders on the defensive for the first five minutes, and came very near. to scoring. Their forwards were very fas.t and clever at this stage of the game, but very weak in' front of the goal. Plitheroe, Smith, and Pugh were the offenders. Turner and Logic spoilt many a chance of scoring by kicking too hard. Always (slow to get going, the Waterskiers woke up_ and Anton electrified spectators. Receiving the bait from Paterson, he swerved around Gibson, and with a- left-foot drive hit tho cross-bar, Palmer dashed up and netted tho first goal. There was no holding Wateraiders after- this, their combination being a treat to watch. Palmer got the next two,'' the first being from a, hard drive from IS yards out, and the other from a well placed free kick, taken by Irvine. Palmer was playing great football. A shot from near half way struck the bar, and Anton, being on the spot, sent in the fourth goal. Gasco tried hard to reduce the lead, M'Lean having to ea-ve two hard shots, and Jones once heading clear from under the bar. Palmer notched the fifth goal before half-time sounded.

Tho triune in the second half was very fust, and saw Egerton do some good work, although he vy.w beaten; eijjlit

more times. Palmer scored 3 more goals, makinjr his tally seven for the. match. Anton got 2, and Bell, Jones, and Gilbertson also scored. Towards the finish Gasco ecored from a free kick. Blackstone being responsible, and Hargreaves, in the last minute, ecored from'a penalty.

Mr. S. Wikon handled the game well.
